your eyes
I love your eyes
But, not for their color
Not for their shape
Or the way that they flutter
Those peaceful, warm eyes
Are not loved for their style
I don't love them because
They go perfect with your smile
I don't love them for their placement
Although, they are just right
I promise I don't love them
In the way you think I might
I love your soft eyes
Because they're one of a kind
Their lovely blue hue
Sends shivers down my spine
They hold a heater to my heart
A feather to my neck
They paint my cheeks reds
And take away my breath
They show me a world
Where a midwest tree
Can be as beautiful as
A mountain or the sea
They warm my Winters
And cool my Summers
Their presence is calming
Their absence; a bummer
I can't explain the difference
Or this new, weird feeling
It's a refreshing change
If you know what I mean
Those eyes, plus that smile
Like a sun below 2 skies
They are different from the rest
I'm going to figure out why
