Sky mirrored lake 
Crystal clear water 
Colorful skipping rocks 
Green, brown and white peaks 
Bird song infects the air 
70s and light blue skies 
Fearful hikes 
Wildlife tracks 
Wildlife scat
Hammocks and campfires 
Bear spray and camelbacks 
Chilly nights and warmer days 
Near the end of May
Miles and miles and miles 
Mountains, lakes and waterfalls 
Solo rodeo 
Stoned from the mountain air
The Northwest is beautiful
I love it here

your eyes

I love your eyes  But, not for their color  Not for their shape  Or the way that they flutter  Those peaceful, warm eyes Are not loved for their style I don't love them because  They go perfect with your smile I don't love them for their placement  Although, they are just right  I promise I don't love them In the way you think I might I love your soft eyes Because they're one of a kind Their lovely blue hue Sends shivers down my spine They hold a heater to my heart A feather to my neck They paint my cheeks reds And take away my breath They show me a world Where a midwest tree Can be as beautiful as A mountain or the sea They warm my Winters And cool my Summers Their presence is calming Their absence; a bummer I can't explain the difference  Or this new, weird feeling It's a refreshing change  If you know what I mean Those eyes, plus that smile Like a sun below 2 skies They are different from the rest I'm going to figure out why
